“I think the training went great. You provided a lot of good information that we need.”
Fully accredited. Globally recognized. Built for the next generation of Addiction & Mental Health Professionals.
In recent years, recovery coaching has emerged as a vital component of the continuum of care in addiction and mental health services. Yet many certified recovery coaches find themselves working under clinical supervisors who are unfamiliar with recovery coaching models, goals, and methodologies. This gap in oversight can hinder professional growth, limit the quality of supervision, and reduce the effectiveness of client outcomes.
The Certified Recovery Coach Supervisor credential is designed to address this need by preparing experienced recovery coaches to assume leadership roles within organizations and private practice. Graduates of this program are equipped to provide informed supervision, ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards, and strengthen the infrastructure of recovery coaching services.
This advanced credential also creates pathways for professional mobility. Supervisors are positioned as leaders in the field, capable of establishing private practices, hiring and managing recovery coaches, and elevating the standard of care across diverse recovery models—including 12-Step, harm reduction, and integrative approaches. Each course is designed to meet the global standards, with clear objectives, real-world application, and evidence-based frameworks. You’ll study:
This opening session sets the stage for what it truly means to supervise in the recovery coaching field. Dr. Cali Estes unpacks the difference between coaching and therapy oversight, how to manage coaches under pressure, and how to instill professionalism without sacrificing empathy. Students learn through real-world case studies, live roleplay, and actionable strategies designed to build confidence, strengthen boundaries, and create high-performing, values-driven recovery coaches.
Here, supervision goes deeper. Using the 7-Eyed Supervision Model, Cali teaches how to manage complex team and client dynamics with confidence. From resistant therapists to triggered coaches, students learn how to hold boundaries, provide trauma-informed guidance, and give feedback that empowers rather than deflates. This session blends structure, nuance, and real-world examples to help supervisors become both mentors and mirrors to their coaching teams.
In this session, students discover how leadership shifts when you understand learning styles, team dynamics, and communication differences. Cali explains how to hire by values, build a team that complements rather than clones you, and run efficient, motivating staff meetings. Supervisors also learn how to give feedback with clarity, resolve conflict with compassion, and position their teams for sustainable success. The training closes with strategies for leading remote teams, reframing imposter syndrome, and communicating across cultural and learning differences.

A Recovery Coach Supervisor is a trained professional who oversees and supports recovery coaches. Instead of working directly with clients all the time, you’re guiding coaches — helping them manage cases, uphold ethical standards, improve skills, and stay within the scope of recovery coaching. It’s leadership, mentorship, and quality control rolled into one.
Absolutely. Treatment centers and community programs are now requiring supervision for recovery coaches. With this credential, you become the go-to authority, able to step into leadership positions and command more responsibility (and pay).
No degree or license is required. You do need to already be a Certified Professional Recovery Coach or a Certified Peer Recovery Coach. If you’re not there yet, we can train you in Levels I and II first, then move you into supervision.
Supervisors often earn significantly more than frontline coaches. Depending on your setting, you can earn $65,000–$125,000+ annually in treatment centers, or much more if you open your own practice and hire coaches under you. The credential puts you in a higher-paying leadership tier.
The training is intensive but efficient. You can complete it in just a few days of focused study. Once finished, you’ll have everything you need to step into supervision immediately. You’ll have access to on-demand video modules, plus 10 weeks of live mentorship, so you can move at your own pace with expert guidance along the way.
